Currencies Accepted in Jamaica: US Dollars, Canadian, Pound are accepted in Jamaica at the bank but on your vacation the bank is not last place you want to go unless you are sorting out some banking issues or doing a cash advance. US currency is largely accepted by almost every business and person in Jamaica, it is safe to say that the US Currency is mostly accepted and the preferred payments on your trip. Changing currency to Jamaican dollars is not highly recommended but this can be done at the Bank or Cambio.

Safety: There is a conception that Jamaica is not Safe, this is not so, you can travel around the island safely, like any other country if you flash large sums of cash around, parade in excessive jewelry, enter areas that’s dark and unoccupied you will encounter undesirable encounters, we recommend you travel in groups and if you are alone do do the above. But overall Jamaica is very safe. Keep luggage, handbags or backpacks in view at all times, Give friends and family your contact information and itineraries in case of emergency.
